Canadian playwright and author. Born in Anatone, Washington, on August 13, 1910. Moved to Lethbridge, Alberta, in 1913. Died May 27, 1984. Biographical information available in The Oxford companion to Canadian literature, 2nd ed., p. 1003-1004; and The Oxford companion to Canadian theatre, p. 468-469.
Fonds consists of the following series: family and personal correspondence (19--, 1913-1984); general business correspondence (19--, 1935-1986); manuscript (19--, 1924-1984); creative arts education (19--, 1938-1983); published works (19--, 1930-1982); sound cassette (19--, 1975-1983); works on Gwen Pharis Ringwood (19--, 1938-1984); miscellaneous (19--, 1945-1983); and three small appendices (MsC 51, 52, 57) consisting of material relating to G. P. Ringwood and acquired from other sources. For description of appendices see entries under Metropolitan Toronto Library Board, Linda Marilyn Potts and Enid Delgatty Rutland. MsC 368 consists of a small self-portrait by G.P. Ringwood, 7 Christmas Greeting letters with poems or creative prose by G.P. Ringwood (n.d., 1975-1981), 6 letters, and 1 poem - Circle Song from Mirage; all items filed together with MsC 51/52/57.
