Canadian composer and educator. Jean Anderson-Wuensch was born in Bradford, West
Yorkshire, England, in 1939. Educated at the University of Nottingham,
University of Leeds, Royal Academy of Music (London, England) and
University of Rochester. Taught music in schools in England
(1961-1964), Minnesota (1964-1967) and at the University of
Western Ontario (1969-). Works commissioned by the Ontario
Council of Arts and Middlesex County Education Board.
Compositions performed in North America and Europe.
Fonds consists of correspondence; manuscript scores of
compositions for concert band, full orchestra, string and chamber
orchestras, chorus, accompanied voice and various chamber
ensembles; manuscripts of lectures; published work; programs of
recitals and concerts featuring compositions by J.
Anderson-Wuensch; and newsclippings of articles about the
composer.
Donated by J. Anderson-Wuensch in 1987, 1999 and 2006.
