Book Collections

The Special Collections print collection, including broadsides, pamphlets, periodicals and monographs, ranges in time from the fifteenth to the twenty-first century. There are examples of incunabla (books printed before 1500), a leaf of the Gutenberg Bible, 1493 Biblia Latina printed by Anton Koberger, and an early sixteenth century Book of Hours Use of Amiens. Special Collections houses several libraries such as that of eminent Albertan Dr. M.P. Hess and Canadian historian Dr. George F.G. Stanley.

Most Special Collections books are searchable on the University of Calgary Library Catalogue.

Materials are available to researchers for use only in the Reading Room.
